Automated Cocktail Dispenser

An automated multi-ingredient cocktail maker designed and built from scratch: CAD modeling, CNC laser-cut chassis, 3D-printed parts, a stepper-driven glass tray, peristaltic pumps, an automated DC mixer, and embedded C firmware.

The Problem

Building a compact, reliable cocktail machine requires precise mechanical positioning without liquid spillage, hygienic fluid delivery across different viscosities, and thorough automated mixing.

The Solution

Designed the full enclosure in CAD with laser-cut acrylic and 3D-printed mounts. Programmed an embedded microcontroller in C to drive a stepper-powered glass carriage along a linear track beneath peristaltic dispensers, finishing with an automated motorized DC mixer.

Technical Specifications & Subsystems

CAD Modeling & Rapid Prototyping

Designed the complete assembly in 3D CAD to verify tolerances and mechanical clearances. Fabricated structural panels with CNC laser cutting and custom brackets with FDM 3D printing.

Stepper Gantry & Position Control

Linear carriage driven by a stepper motor and gear system with limit switches for homing, moving glasses smoothly under each dispenser nozzle without sloshing.

Peristaltic Dispensing & DC Mixer

Peristaltic pumps dispense accurate liquid volumes for each ingredient, followed by a dedicated motorized DC mixer to blend the drink before serving.

Embedded C Firmware

State machine running on an embedded microcontroller in C, sequencing motion trajectories, pump timings, and mixing routines.
